چکیده

Stress and displacement of the composite lining are important factors to be considered during tunnel design. By complex variable method, analytical solutions for stress surrounding rock, primary support secondary satisfying interface continuity boundary conditions under far-field stresses derived. Taking railway as an example, distributions along boundaries given, which was in good agreement with numerical solution calculated by finite element software. The results show that maximum normal ratio (load sharing ratio) outer between is 0.74. radial inner support, change consistently. settlement uplift occur at vault bottom, respectively. tangential compressive stress, while tensile stress. smaller than allowable concrete.

Effect of segmental joint stiffness on tunnel lining internal forces under static conditions

According to the wide application of segmental lining in mechanized tunneling, recognizing the behavior of segmental lining joints is important in tunnels designing. In the structural analysis of the tunnel segmental lining, segmental joints can be considered as elastic joints, and their stiffness characteristics are affected by the rotational, shear, and axial stiffness. The purpose of this wo...

Soil-Structure Interaction of Buried Pipes Under Cyclic Loading Conditions

The safety of lifelines, as the most important urban facilities, under different conditions highly depends on the safe design and performance of these buried structures. This cannot be achieved unless their actual behaviors are well understood and considered at the designing stage. A new physical model was developed in Amirkabir University of Technology to study the behavior of buried pipes und...

Investigation of Liquefaction Mechanism and Displacement in Buried Sand Layers

One of the most important reasons for damages during earthquakes is the liquefaction of loose and saturated sand soils. However, in many regions with proper soil specifications, the large settlements have been observed in the ground surface. Loose sand layers buried in fine soils are one of the cases which may result in these problems and as a weak point during earthquake can cause this phenome...

Effect of Segmental Joint on Internal Forces in Tunnel Lining under Seismic Loading by Numerical Method

Although segmental tunnel linings are often used for seismic areas, the influence of segment joints on the segmental lining behavior under seismic loading has not been thoroughly considered in the literature. This paper presents the results of a numerical study investigating the effects of the rotational, axial, and radial joint stiffness of the longitudinal joints on the structural force...

An Experimental Investigation on Fracture Analysis of Polymer Matrix Composite under Different Thermal Cycling Conditions

Fracture analysis of glass/epoxy composites under different thermal cycling conditions is considered. Temperature difference, stacking sequence, fiber volume fraction and number of thermal cycles are selected as the experimental design factors. The Taguchi method is implemented to design of the experiment and an apparatus is developed for automatic thermal cycling tests. The tensile tests are d...
